    His: Target December Box

So the December box was kind of neat because they offer a box for both him and her! This review is strictly for the box for HIM! I gave the items to my younger brother to try them out and here is a little of what he had to say.

The Target Beauty Box is a one-time purchase monthly box that includes deluxe and full-sized beauty products that you can find at Target and of course other retailers.

Here is a BREAKDOWN of the goodies in the December box:

    1. Gold Bond Ultimate Refresh 360 Body Powder – Value = $0.70 for 1 oz

This body powder retails for $6.99 for the full 10 oz size. I don’t actually know much about this product since it is currently still wrapped up like it is below and sitting on our bathroom counter.

    2. Old Spice Dirt Destroyer Puresport Body Wash– Value = $0.95 for 3 oz bottle

The full 16 oz bottle retails for $4.99. This is currently the body wash in the shower in the bathroom we share. That right there was a good sign that he was going to like the product. He likes the way it smells and leaves you smelling good even after you get out of the shower. I’m not going to lie, I’ve used it a few times and even I like the way it smells!

    3. Colgate Optic White Platinum Toothpaste– Value = $1.62 for 1.45 oz

For a full size 3 oz tube this retails for $3.34! I have been using this toothpaste since I opened the box. I like the way my mouth feels after I’m done brushing my teeth. I feel like it is a good product and would definitely buy the full size tube. I have also noticed that my teeth appear to look whiter after a week of using the tooth paste twice a day.

    4. Gillette Fusion Hydra Shave Gel Value = $2.12 for 2.5 oz

The full 7 oz size retails for $2.74. Again, this is another product that is a staple for not only both of my brothers but for my Mr. as well. It leaves their faces smooth and fresh looking. They like the way it foams up as they rub it onto their faces. Since this is something they already use, it is definitely something that they will continue to buy in the future.

    5. Every Man Jack 2-in-1 Shampoo and Conditioner – Value = $1.20 for 2 oz

The full size bottle (13.5oz) is $7.99. This was a product that none of the males in my life had heard of or used before. My one brother said he likes the way this smelled when he was washing his hair and liked that it didn’t smell girly in any way. Since it is a 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner, it left my brother’s hair feeling soft and not like a brillo pad like it normally does.

    6. Old Spice Swagger 2-in-1 Shampoo and Conditioner – Value = $0.56 for 1.7 oz

A full 25.3oz bottle retails for $6.99. Again, this is another staple in our house as my youngest brother uses this. He normally changes it up with Head & Shoulders, but he likes the way this one smells when he uses it and it leaves his hair smelling good too. This size bottle is perfect for throwing into his gym bag to use after weight-lifting before school.

    7. Dove Men+Care Clean Comfort Body Wash– Value = $0.55 for 1.8 oz

The full 18 oz bottle retails for $4.69. This is another product that is an absolute staple in our house. Mr. Fiance uses this daily when he showers and my mom buys it for my dad as well. I like this because it leaves Mr.’s skin feeling soft and smooth even if he doesn’t put lotion on! This is great for travel and will definitely be used!

    8. Nautica Voyage Sport Cologne – Value = $0.70

A full size (1.7oz) bottle retails for $34.99. This was nice that it came in a mini spray bottle rather than the wand. My brother is currently wearing this and I have to say it smells kind of like the Old Spice Pure Sport. It smells good on him and he likes it, so I guess that’s all that matters! He’s not really a big cologne guy but he does wear it for special occasions.

    THE VALUE

The value of this December Beauty Box for Him is about $8.40. Since this box was only $7.00 plus shipping (mine was free + 5% off since I have a Target Debit Card) this is a great deal! For this particular box, it had no full size items, but worked out since almost all of the products were things that someone in my family uses all the time! This was such a  great box

I think this box is a great deal and I can’t wait to see what January will look like! I can definitely say that I will be purchasing this box again in the future as long as it is not sold out!

    XOXO

    2016 – A Wrap Up

Happy Holidays y’all!! I can’t believe that 2017 is literally right around the corner! It feels like just yesterday we were celebrating the start of 2016.

This past year has been full of big things and changes for me. As of last December, I was officially done with college and got my Bachelor’s Degree in in Marketing. This was huge for me since it had taken longer than anticipated and finished in a completely different place than where I had started (let’s just say I’m glad to be done with school for now!).

In February, I went on an amazing trip with my then BF (now my fiance) to Chicago and New York. We spent Valentine’s Day in the city and it could not have been more perfect! It was VERY cold while we were there, but so worth it for these 2 California kids. I loved the fact that I got to explore these 2 fabulous cities with my favorite person! This was our first real trip as a couple (even though we’d been going out for 4 years already) and as soon as we got back I couldn’t wait to start thinking about where we would go next. I know that I want to travel to as many different places with my Mr. right by my side!

In July, I was offered a full time job with the company that I had been an intern with. It was a big step and honestly, I wasn’t sure I was ready for such a big commitment, but I have been here 6 months now and I am starting to see the big picture of things. This is a great starter job that allows me to grow within and there are tons of perks that my other friends don’t have in their jobs! I know that I won’t be in this particular title forever, but you have to start somewhere, right?

Just another day on the job

In September, the BF and went out to Palm Springs as the last hoorah for the end of summer. We got to enjoy some great weather with a fabulous dinner and drinks right at the hotel! It was a great little overnight trip, although I wish we could have stayed longer!

Soaking up the sun in Palm Springs

I also started coaching the cheer team at a local private school where I live. It’s a great little side job and I absolutely love cheering! This position allows me to still be in the sport that I loved doing for so many years, but now hopefully I can make a lasting impression on the girls I coach. I can’t wait for their competition season to start up in January!

In October, I celebrated my 5 year anniversary with the BF (of course I was still wondering when he’d propose). This was a huge milestone as it is half of a decade! It’s crazy to look back on how far your relationship with one person has grown and evolved over time and it makes you appreciate the little things that make you love this person.

Enjoying a nice dinner with my love

Finally in November, BF proposed to me and made me the luckiest girl in the whole world! I’ve known since the day I laid eyes on him that he was the one and now my dreams are becoming my reality. I get to marry my best friend and spend the rest of my life with him. The planning is already underway and I can’t wait to keep y’all updated!

Literally the best day of my life!!!

Later in November, we took a trip to Seattle to see one of my college friends. We had never been to Seattle before so  it was really cool that we both got to experience it for the first time together. We did all of the normally touristy things, got to see/experience real fall wether and even went to a UW game. I personally would love to go back in the summer and take advantage of lake activities.

Last but not least, in December we had to let our Disneyland passes expire which was sad for both of us. When we lived closer to the park, we would go ALL the time, but now with both of us in full time jobs and not living near there anymore it became too hard to get out there and take full advantage of having a pass. I know that one day we’ll get passes again, but until then I guess we’ll just put the money for a pass towards the wedding.

Last Disney day for a while

All in all, 2016 was a pretty darn good year for me, but I can’t wait to see what this next year has in store for me and the Mr. I already know it will be jam packed with all kinds of wedding planning and, more likely than not, some sort of house hunting. It’s going to be a crazy year, but I wouldn’t trade this adventure for anything!

    See y’all next year!

    XOXO

  • November 2016: Ipsy

    November 2016: Ipsy

OK, so I’m super lame and missed my own personal deadline for posting about the glambag in November!

I got my bag at the beginning of November and have tried almost all of the items!

Let’s get to the good stuff and I’ll share with you what I got in my pouch this month:

For starters, the theme of this month’s bag was ROCKSTARLET. The bag was cute with with cosmetic constellations.

    The Products:

Leaders Cosmetics USA Aloe Soothing Renewal Mask & Aquaringer Treatment Mask Value = $10

They are $5 each. Ipsy says that they are perfect for the winter blues! I used both of them and honestly don’t know how I feel.  They were both pretty goopy when I took it out of the package and put it on my face. At first I thought that was fine and that it would soak into my face or dry up a little bit. When I took it off after 15 min, the directions said to rub in the leftover serum. There was soo much stuff left on my face that I had to get a tissue and rub a little off before I could go to bed!

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner deluxe in Black Value = $18

This eyeliner was nice, nothing exceptionally great about it, but it was easy to use. It glided onto the eyelid smoothly and lasted all day. As for purchasing this product on my own, I don’t think I would. There are a lot of other liquid eyeliners out there that do the same thing for less money!

Pūr~lisse Blue Lotus Balancing Moisturizer Value for 0.5oz = $16

This moisturizer retails for $55 for a 1.7oz tube! This product is meant to hydrate the skin just enough without overly hydrating.

tarte cosmetics Maracuja Oil Value for 7 ml = $7

The full size of this size bottle at Sephora retails at $15. This oil “targets indivisual skin concerns and delivers balanced moisture for firmer, brighter, and smoother-looking skin.” I personally am not a huge fan of oils, so I can’t give an accurate review for this.

theBalm Mad Lash Mascara Value for 2.5 ml= $5.63

For a full mascara, this retails for $18. This product was just ok in my opinion. It was a little too goopy and didn’t make my lashes look any longer. I think that I will stick to the mascaras that make my lashes look longer/fuller! The other thing that I didn’t really like was the shape of the brush. It was a large curve brush that kind of made a mess on my eyes and I had to clean up the area.

While I can’t pinpoint an exact price of the products in the whole bag, I’ve figured that the bag is worth at least $56 (just a super rough estimate, not sure if the eyeliner was full size or not)! I think that it is fairly accurate, so the $10 you pay for the bag is such a steal!

The cost of the box every month is $10 + tax and free shipping. So for 5 products (one of which should be full size, the low price is a pretty good bargain. The bag is great if you’re looking to try out different products that you may not currently use.
