    Target November Beauty Box

Again, I know I am super late on posting this review, but here goes nothing! I am almost all done getting caught up on everything that I was behind on and I think I just have one more thing to post after this one!

The Target Beauty Box is a one-time purchase monthly box that includes deluxe and full sized beauty products that you can find at Target and of course other retailers.

Here is a BREAKDOWN of the NOVEMBER goodies:

    1. L’Oreal Advanced HairCare Volume Filler Thickening Shampoo – Value 1.7oz = $0.50

This shampoo varies in price depending on which size bottle you buy. There is a 12.6oz bottle for $3.52 or a 25.4oz bottle for $4.59. This rich formula permeates and expands every strand to make hair look and feel twice as thick. I have very thin hair and I am always looking for ways to achieve that thicker hair look, but unfortunately shampoos just don’t do it for me. This shampoo smelled nice and was easy on the hair, but I just didn’t get a “fuller” vibe from it.

    2. Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Beautiful Day Cream – Value = $5.88

The full size, 1.7oz jar retails for $24.99. This cream helps to nourish, tighten, and revive skin. I really like the way this made my face feel after putting it on in the morning. I felt like my face wasn’t dry despite the weather outside! The only thing I didn’t like was the scent was very overwhelming. It was too fragrant for my liking and honestly would prevent me from buying it in the future.

    3. Hask Keratin Protein Soothing Deep Conditioner – Value = $1.99

This deep conditioner helps to repair damaged, over-processed hair while reducing breakage and static. This product was great but I just don’t really have the time to sit and wait for a conditioner to set for 10 minutes. This was great as a sample size, but I wouldn’t buy it again. Plus my hair isn’t really damaged so I don’t have a constant need for deep conditioner.

    4. Laneige Water Bank Soothing Mask Value for 1 = $4.80

A box of 5 masks retails for $24. A non-slip sheet mask infused with hydro-ionized mineral water that delivers intense moisture while soothing skin. I LOVE this mask! It wasn’t too goopy when I took it out of the package like some masks are. It left my skin feeling rejuvenated!

    5. W3LL People Bio Brightener Stick – Value = $ unsure

I actually couldn’t find this product on Target’s website when I went back to look, but I found it on Anthropologie for $24. This illuminating cream creates an instant glow with premium natural ingredients and organic botanicals.

    6. L’Oreal Voluminous Primer Value = $5.99

This is a lightweight primer that enhances mascara, helping it to go on smoothly for visibly longer, thicker lashes. I recently bought myself the Opening Act from Tarte, so when this came in my box, I was curious to see if there was a difference. While this one from Target is a whole lot cheaper, I didn’t see any other differences. The L’Oreal primer made my lashes look a bit fuller, but I’m not sure if it made them look any longer. Since I felt that both products did pretty much the same thing, I would continue to buy the L’Oreal primer since it is a better price and it’s always good to have that one drugstore product in your makeup bag!

    7. Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner – Value = $9.99

A retractable, waterproof pencil that keeps lines neat all day long! This is my go-to liner and I love that it has the little smudger on the other end! I got black liner in my box which is a staple in my makeup bag and something that I use everyday. I’m glad that I got something in the box that I use on a daily basis because now I don’t have to go buy a new one! 😉

    THE VALUE

The value of this September Beauty Box is about $29.15 without the W3LL People product. Since you only pay $10.00 plus shipping (mine was free + 5% off since I have a Target Debit Card) this is a great deal! For this particular box, it had 3 full size items and the rest deluxe size which is perfect for trying out a new product that you may not normally buy.

I think this box is a great deal and I love trying new products every month! I can’t wait for my December box to come!

  • Wedding Venue Shopping Pt. 1

    Wedding Venue Shopping Pt. 1

Happy Sunday y’all! I hope you’re out there having brunch and sipping on mimosas!

As you all know, I got engaged in November and I said that I would post about my adventures of wedding planning. I’ve said from the beginning that I didn’t want a Wedding Planner because I don’t want someone to come in and change all of my ideas, plus I’m controlling and like to be in charge at all times!

Yesterday Mr. Fiancé and I went with my parents to check out a venue that I’ve had my eye on for probably a year now. It’s basically an empty warehouse, but with the right touches it would be perfect for the country rustic theme we want. When we left there everyone but me was a little less than thrilled about the venue. Of course I was heartbroken because this is what I’ve wanted for so long that I really hadn’t looked at any other venue.

Here is what the space looked like on our walk-through

Once I calmed down enough and actually talked about it, I did realize that there were a few flaws in the place that I’ve worked up so much in my head. For starters, the lady that we met with didn’t have a portfolio of prior events that have been held there, something that might show what the space looked like all done up since, like I mentioned before, it’s literally an empty space. There were a few other things that once I thought about it didn’t like either:

    • They have these support poles that are half painted yellow (you can have white drapes put on them)
    • There is no private bridal room
    • There is no on-sight kitchen (everything has to be catered)
    • There is no separation from the cocktail hour space to the dinning space (I know this might seem silly to some people)
    • You also have to bring in your own dance floor and extra lighting

Here are some pictures of how beautiful the venue looks when it is all done up and is exactly the reason I want to have my reception here! In my opinion, it is just so different than other weddings I’ve been to.

This is a photo of what that same space looks like done up for a wedding! Isn’t is just so beautiful though?

I absolutely love this bar area! It fits perfectly with the theme we are trying to obtain!

That being said, I will be open minded and start looking at my other options but I know that I don’t want to compromise so much that it’s no longer the wedding that I’ve always envisioned for me and Mr.

    Until next time!

    XOXO

  • Target October Beauty Box

    Target October Beauty Box

This is my third Target box and I am really liking what I am seeing from these boxes so far! I love that there are both sample and full size products. This is the October box, and I know it is December now, but I am trying to get all caught up with everything!

The Target Beauty Box is a one-time purchase monthly box that includes deluxe and full sized beauty products that you can find at Target and of course other retailers.

Here is a BREAKDOWN of the OCTOBER goodies:

    1. Derma-e Hydrating  Day Creme– Value for 0.5oz = $6.50

This cream retails for $25.99 for a full 2oz size jar. This moisturizer is made to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles. It is ideal for dry skin that needs long-lasting moisture throughout the day. This product is great becasue it is 100% vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, mineral oil-free, lanolin-free, gluten-free, and GMO-free. In all honesty, I didn’t like this product because of the way it smelled and it felt a little thick to be putting on my face for daytime use.

    2. Laneige BB Cushion – Value for 0.21oz = $27.20

This is just a sample size, but the full 1.05oz size retails for $34. This sample came with 4 little samples of each color that they offer which is pretty cool. I don’t use a product like this on a normal basis so I’m glad that I was able to try it through the box. While I did like the product, I probably wouldn’t buy it for $34!

    3. ChapStick Total Hydration in Rose Petal – Value = $4.99

This is a chapstick with a tint to it. I personaly didn’t like it because I felt that it left too much color on my lips to be used as a chapstick. It did go on smoothly and felt very moisturizing, but I won’t be using it again. I gave this to my mom since I opened and used it already and she LOVES this chapstick!

    4. Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer Value for 2oz = $1.24

The full size 10oz bottle retails for $6.19. This was kind of weird for me because you put it on while you are still wet from the shower. It is a quick absorbing formula that blends with water to lock in the hydration. When I tried this, it was weird because it just felt like I was putting lotion on my wet skin but then when I dried off it felt a little sticky. After getting dressed and going about my day I realized that it did indeed feel like I had actually put lotion on! My skin felt soft and moisturized! I will definitely look into buying a full size.

    5. Eden Peppermint Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioner – Value 2oz = $3.90 for both

A full 8oz bottle of the shampoo is $7.79 and the full 8oz bottle of conditioner is also $7.79. This shampoo refreshes the scalp and stimulates the hair follicles. It is supposed to remove all traces of dirt and oil build up. it helps to alleviate dry, itchy scalp. The conditioner is fortified with proteins to decrease split ends and softens hair for less tangles. Both the shampoo and conditioner smell extremely peppermint-y and remind me a lot of Christmas time! The shampoo was ok, nothing special, but with the conditioner I felt like I had to use a lot more than I normally would. It didn’t really do a great job of untangling my hair when I combed it out. I’m not sure I would buy either in the full size.

    6. Wet n Wild proline Graphic Marker Eyeliner in  Black Value = $3.99

This is a full size item that came in the Beauty Box! I was hoping that this would be easy to use, but it has a slanted tip which I have no clue how to even use that correctly! I wish that this had been easier to use because I definitely would have used it.

    THE VALUE

The value of this October Beauty Box is about $48. Since you only pay $10.00 plus shipping (mine was free + 5% off since I have a Target Debit Card) this is a great deal! For this particular box, it had 3 full size items and the rest deluxe size which is perfect for trying out a new product that you may not normally buy.

I think this box is a great deal and I’m looking forward to buying them every month!
